Custodia is the blockchain infrastructure provider for Hazel Network, a solution that brings tokenized deposits and payment stablecoins to the banking system. We operate the smart contracts, wallets, and on-chain controls behind Avit, the network’s dual-nature token.
Tokenized deposit and stablecoin services
For Hazel Network member financial institutions, Custodia provides smart contracts, wallets, and on-chain operational and compliance controls that move deposits in the form of tokens on the Network and enforce token settlement in code. When Avit stablecoins circulate beyond the banking consortium’s perimeter, Custodia backs every externally held Avit token with reserves, one to one, in real time. Avit is designed to be a GENIUS Act-regulated payment stablecoin as the framework takes effect.
Custodia operates under Wyoming’s special purpose depository institution charter, a bank that must hold deposits 100% in reserve and cannot lend them. The reserves behind every externally held Avit are subject to these criteria.
